Photoville NYC
Photoville is a free outdoor photo festival in Brooklyn, NY. Instagram’s shipping container exhibits at Photoville were the first public exhibitions in the company’s history. The 2014 edition featured an exterior mural hand painted by @dalek2020, a 15’ interior hand-cranked Explore page scroll, and image galleries displayed on two levels. The 2015 edition included a spiral staircase connecting two downstairs galleries with a rooftop installation of images mounted on cubic forms. These exhibitions were designed to bring to life the vibrant creative community featured everyday on @instagram and to create a beacon for community gathering in NYC.
